I don't know about you but we struggled to find a name that suited our baby. We were convinced that we were having a boy and we had names for him sorted.
When our daughter was born we felt all the emotions you get when your baby is born, suprise, elation and joy, but there was a hint of oops 'What do we call her?'
It took us at least 24hrs before we could think of a name that we both liked and felt suited her. Everything I liked my wife hated as it reminded her of someone she didn't like, sounded too posh or would cause her to get beaten up at school.
Everything my wife liked I felt was too common, there was already someone in the family with that name or would cause her to be picked on in school.
In the end we did find a name we both loved it just took a bit longer than we thought. It is very strange calling your baby 'Baby' because she doesn't have a name yet. Once we confirmed it and felt happy with the name another of those little weights was lifted from our shoulders.
Did any of you struggle to name your child? I'd love to hear about and also on why you chose their name.
